Labour candidates recorded victories across the city in Thursday's City Council elections. Winning 11 seats the party saw off challenges from the Tories in marginal wards in Stoke, Budshead, Moor View and Southway. The Tories had spent a fortune trying to win these seats but they didn't. Plymouth is a city on the up with Labour. Thank you to all the people who backed our candidates across the city.

On behalf of the entire Labour Party, thank you for all your support in City Council elections. Labour held 11 of 12 target seats despite the Tories spending a small fortune to defeat us. Plymouth is a city on the up with Labour and voters backed us to re-elect Labour Councillors across the city - Cllr Tudor Evans, Leader of Plymouth City Council
