Devonport has a new welcome road sign thanks to a campaign by local Labour Party campaigners. A year ago, Luke Pollard, then Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, launched a campaign for the historic town of Devonport to receive proper recognition with a dedicated welcome sign. After months of lobbying and support from the local community, the new welcome sign on Devonport Hill has just been installed.
My name is Kate Taylor and I’m delighted to be your Labour Party candidate in Devonport, seeking re-election as your councilor.
I grew up in Devonport where my mother and grandfather ran The Shakespeare pub, and now live in the centre of the ward on Albert Road. I currently work in the Housing Team at a homeless hostel in Plymouth and thoroughly enjoy working alongside community groups in Devonport, Keyham and Morice Town.
I spend my Saturday afternoons at Home Park supporting Plymouth Argyle and I am proudly supported by my trade union, Unite the Union.
