Thank you to all the Labour Party volunteers and supporters who dropped off donations for the Plymouth Food Bank at our offices over the last month. We have just made our fourth and final delivery to the food bank dropping off Christmas snacks, long-life milk, chocolate and household essentials.
Cllr Mary Aspinall has been one of the team who has been co-ordinating the collection. She said:
"Thank you to everyone who has gone the extra mile to collect food for our local food bank. At this special time of year there are thousands of people in our city who are unable to afford basic food to put on the table. Christmas is a time for community and the response from our volunteers has been incredible. We have made four large deliveries to the food bank which will help hundreds of people have a slightly better Christmas. One day there won't be a need for food banks but as long as there is a need we will help and support the people who rely on them."
Keep the donations coming
The Labour offices are now closed for the festive period. If you'd like to make a donation to the Plymouth Food Bank you can drop off a donation in person or donate online. Find out more on the food bank website here.
