Plymouth Moor View Labour Party has selected Charlotte Holloway as its candidate to take back the seat from the Tories at the next General Election.
Charlotte Holloway is a local member from Eggbuckland ward, and lives in Crownhill. Born and raised in Plymouth, Charlotte started working in Plymouth in local pubs and shops, and has worked for national organisations including The Work Foundation and TechUK. She currently works for a national charity as South West Area Manager, where she works on community-led social change.
Speaking after the selection meeting on December 16, Charlotte Holloway said:
“Plymouth is my home. Plymouth made me who I am. It’s where I live and I am proud to be Labour’s candidate for the next General Election.
“This Tory Government has overseen the biggest cuts to our public services in a generation. Too many people and too many places in our city are being left behind. The NHS and social care are in crisis, our schools are struggling under the weight of the budget cuts and cuts to police budgets are putting our safety at risk.
“Today I give notice to the Tory MP Johnny Mercer. He is not on the side of people here - he doesn’t even live here. He says one thing and does another. I will not let him get away with it any longer.
“It’s time for the people of Plymouth Moor View to have a representative that will put them first, with a positive and ambitious vision for the future of the constituency. I will work tirelessly between now and the next General Election to let the people of Plymouth Moor View know that the next General Election will be a choice between a Labour Party that will stand up them or a Conservative Party that only looks after the privileged few.”
