Dena Rafiti for Plymstock Dunstone

Promoting social justice, equality and economic opportunity through the “common endeavour” of the Labour movement is important to me.

I learnt about the injustices of Conservatism as my family where hit hard by Thatcher’s government. Subsequently, I joined the Labour Party at the first instance.
I was the youngest and only student Labour Party candidate in the 2014 City Council elections.

I graduated with a law degree from Plymouth University. As a Director of Dreammaker CIC I promote social justice by providing training to adults.

My top pledges from the manifesto:
  • We will work with ferry and water taxi providers to get better coverage around the city’s waterfront helping create more jobs and support the city’s tourist industry.
  • After having illuminated Charles Church we will continue the investment in this important war memorial by restoring plaques telling the story of Charles Church and planting poppies as a symbol of remembrance.
