Campaigning for the City Council elections in May 2016 has begun! Volunteers were knocking on doors and speaking to voters in Whitleigh this morning with local Labour Councillor Jon Taylor.
Cllr Jon Taylor said:
"It was good to be back on the doors speaking to voters. Labour in Plymouth campaigns all year round, not just at election time.
A lot of the people I was speaking to were concerned about the cuts in tax credits and what more and more cuts means for their jobs and the services they rely on. I'm proud to represent Budshead ward and door knocking gives me and my fellow volunteers the chance to listen to people's concerns in person and respond to them.
I've taken up a lot of casework today ranging from problems with trees to walls falling down. It's this type of work that local Labour councillors do every day and it really does make a difference to local communities.
I'll be campaigning every week from now on - if you'd like to join me in Budshead or join Labour volunteers across the city please get in touch."
There is regular door knocking every Saturday morning from 10.30am. Check out the weekly email or our twitter for more details. If you don't receive our weekly email please get in touch and we will add you.
