Mass Read-in at Peverell Library to protest against threatened closure
At a packed out consultation meeting at Peverell library angry residents gave council officials the clear message that they were not going to take the closure of their library sitting down. Support for the library was unanimous among those who attended, but many are fearful that the Council will not listen even to this strength of local feeling.
Over 30 people attended a later public meeting organised by Plymouth Labour to discuss ways to support Peverell Library. At this meeting it was decided to stage a mass 'read-in' and booking borrowing at Peverell library at 10:30 on Saturday March 4th.
Here we intend to pack the library to capacity to show the Council the strength of community support for the library.
Please, bring your friends, children, neighbours, and relatives and let's pack our library with community support!
Please come and add your support to the campaign to Save Peverell Library. It has served our community for many years, but it is now time for us to rally to it's support!
