Plymouth is one of the main targets for Labour in the 2018 Local Elections - can you help on May 3rd?
Currently the Tories have control of the Council with 30 Councillors to Labour's 27. We only need to take an additional two Council seats from the nineteen seats that are up for election this year to take back control of the Council. However, our aim is to go much further.
Decisive control of the Council will enable us to put forward long-term plans of benefit to the city that Plymouthian's need. We'll get the basics right, delivering the services we all need - and more. We will deliver more well paid, secure jobs, building new houses for families, the elderly, and the homeless, and improving schools. Labour have delivered before, and we will again.
A decisive win here in Plymouth will show that people are sick and tired of Conservative austerity and mismanagement, and that they want a local Council and a national government that is there for the many, not the few.
To achieve this goal we need your help - throughout the campaign - but most of all on polling day
All of the local election campaign have been directed towards this one day, May 3rd. Every single vote counts, we've spent countless hours knocking on doors over the campaign finding our voters, and the more people we have on polling day the more of our Labour voters we can get to the polls - this is Labour's strength when our members come together for a massive movement of people in the space of a day.
Most of all we need street canvassers to call on Labour voters, but we also need drivers, tellers, leaflet posters, and people on the phone banks. If you can help for the day, or even for just half an hour, all efforts are welcome and essential on this day. We welcome old hands and complete novices, with training and help provided by experienced volunteers.
Please, get involved the most exciting and comradely day of political life - election day.
